Our local retail is missing a lot of business in the afternoon because we feel the need to open lanes to rush people home. Lets encourage them to stop in at these businesses to eat and shop. Right now people close up earlier because of the speed of out bound traffic. Residents know they can't cross the street and avoid walking to their local business during these hours. Less sales tax dollars, less local business profit, reduced pedestrian benefit all so people from downtown can speed home. Let's shift the culture.
