More recycling and waste receptacles on the streets.

There are not enough receptacles for recycling and waste on the streets of Phoenix. For example, my friends, family and I frequently walk on Roosevelt, and there is only one trash receptacle from 7th Street all the way until Central. We frequently see trash on the ground throughout downtown, and we often comment on how it makes our walks less enjoyable. We need to make it just as easy to place waste into a receptacle as it is to toss it on the ground! I think it is reasonable to assume that people want to be proud of their surroundings and have a pleasant experience while walking. The blight makes this difficult. During a recent trip to San Diego, my family and I noticed several trash bins on every street, and we agreed the city is cleaner and more enjoyable to walk in as a result. We think adding more recycling and waste receptacles is a small fix that could go a long way to improving the walking experience in Phoenix.
