Elevating rail lines over the 101, 51, 202, 17,10 and 303 would provide long distance travel options as well as environmental benefits.
1) Rail Lines along the highway routes would provide lessened traffic issues on game days to the various stadiums and recreational venues
2) Elevating lines eliminates potential car/train accidents.
3) Elevated rail lines will provide shade and reduce the ' heat island ' effect from the asphalt, even more so if the lines themselves are covered with solar panels attached providing alternate energy . As a first responder who has helped out on car accidents on the highways here I can tell you that the shade provided would be greatly appreciated. not just to the responders and victims but those stuck in traffic.
4) Regional expandability: rail lines over the highways can be expanded to Flagstaff and Tucson, providing an easier commute for those residents to enjoy the amenities in Phoenix and vice versa.
5) These rail lines can be tied into the light rail lines again offering an ease of commute option to mid phoenix venues for those in the outskirts of Phoenix.
