Roundabouts are a good Idea where there are more than 2 streets comming togother. They are used in Europe and England and work well and should be used on streets with multiple lanes. But the City of Phoenix engineer's have decided that in there wisdom to slow down traffic to put roundabouts at intersections on residental streets. There are ways to slow down traffic by installing curbing that makes the traffic move in an elongated "S" movement over a one block section of street. Planted with trees and desert landscape. This will still allow bus service in these areas.
