I love learning about how people lived without modern conveniences and how we borrowed some prehistoric innovations for modern use (canals, for instance). We should have historical markers and other information wherever possible so that our young people will grow up recognizing the wealth of local history that we adults often overlook. Perhaps adults will even get excited about such things....
