Reviewed Ideas
First street and Adams - transform the back of the Hyatt and its large sidewalk into a food cart oasis with umbrellas, shade structures with seating while activating a barren space. Continue the idea down the block in front of the old Matador utilizing that building for unique art integrated from ALAC, uniquely decorated "artistic" tables to be used for chess, checkers and other games, coffee carts and more multi-use community building ideas. Hang art from the building, create a "green wall" up the side of the parking garage, allow downtown chefs to grow veggies on top of the roof/under the solar panels - all this to showcase what is possible elsewhere. This will help transform the if not one of the biggest urban heat islands in the city, not to mention "create community" and street activation right where we need it.
