Ahwatukee currently has no quality baseball fields for our Young Ball Players. Moreover, there is nowhere in Phoenix, again I stress this, NOWHERE IN THE CITY of PHOENIX, where we can currently Host any Youth Baseball Tournaments. There are simply no facilities within the City of Phoenix. As it currently exist, virtually ALL Club Baseball Teams in the Valley (Approx. 200), participating in any Tournaments, must travel either to Peoria (Rio Vista Park), or to Gilbert (Big League Dreams). This is sad.........Very sad.
We propose building an 8-Field Youth Baseball Complex. This Complex, which we hope to build on a site, right off Interstate 10, will be easily accessible from virtually anywhere in the Valley, and indeed the State. This facility would provide much needed quality fields , both for practicing, as well as Games. And again, would finally give the City of Phoenix, the capability to Host our own Youth Baseball Tournaments.............Again, something we currently cannot do. The entire area, including Southeast Phoenix, Ahwatukee, Chandler and Tempe, would benefit economically from this development. And more importantly, our Young Ball Players will finally have a quality facility, which all of Phoenix can be proud of........
Club Baseball Teams, Girls Softball Teams, and of course, Little League, will all benefit tremendously from such a facility. We also would propose incorporating a complete Training Center on site, which would be staffed by former College and Professional Baseball Players.
The current site we have in mind, is owned by the local School District. With that in mind, in Phase 2, in addition to the Baseball Fields & Training Center, we would also hope to build a Performing Arts Center, which would be utilized by all Schools in the District.
The Baseball Complex itself, would be utilized daily (no doubt, with a waiting list), either for Team Practices, Games, or Tournaments.
It would simply be, a "WIN / WIN / WIN", for All concerned.
