Currently union station now house a wireless company and a ton of telecom equipment. Would be so cool if they revived the station and regional/national passenger trains came through there. Currently those trains go into Maricopa. That is ridiculous. We could connect back to the lines that used to serve to LA, Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Tucson, and perhaps San Diego. Regional transit for tourism and business could then in part come through downtown phoenix in a more sustainable and fun way than airline travel. From the locals perspective, how cool would it be to hop on a train to Flag, Tucson, Vegas, or LA for a weekend trip?
