First, The city can at least stop stifling its use and start acknowledging this technology as a drainage solution. At a minimum, the City can at least give builders drainage and storm water credit for installing pervious concrete. Then update the building codes to require the use of it, where possible! We can reduce costs of managing storm water by allowing water drain better on site and we can reduce the negative impact of the heat concrete creates by using a "cooler", permeable concrete, over time. This is a smart solution that needs to be implemented NOW. For a basic description of what pervious concrete is here is the wikipedia link.
