There's an effort afoot to stabilize and rehabilitate the 1912 Mahoney Administration Building, located 1.5 blocks north of the light rail station at 24th Street and Washington. The Mahoney Building, like the greater Arizona State Hospital, has a rich history which has been documented and archived over the years. A rehabilitated Mahoney Building would provide an excellent venue for permanent and changing interpretive public displays, along with other uses now under investigation. It has been designated an Arizona Centennial 2012 Legacy Project.
