Although these hotels are not strictly "on" the light rail line, they are within walking distance. The last thing Downtown Phoenix needs is more parking lots! These two hotels and the store in-between may look dingy right now, but with some imagination, I'm sure a new use can be found for them that would help in Downtown's revival. There are precious few of these human-scaled buildings left in a Downtown dominated by too many giant buildings that have little to offer at street level. They need to be saved even if it means buying them out and offering them to a more imaginative developer than the current owner; the Suns are not proving to be a good citizen here. The area around them would benefit too.
