The Parks Dept. should attempt to more strictly regulate and educate in regards to animal safety in the summer heat. Too often, uneducated pet owners take their eager dogs out into the summer heat on preserve trails. These pet owners do not realize dogs do not perspire to cool themselves. They also won't communicate to an owner they are in need of water. Every summer, there are dog deaths that were preventable. Trail heads could use some heavy education on this matter. In addition, the City should educate how harmful hot summer heated rocks, asphalt, and concrete are on a pets paws. Even for outdoor pets, but an all too eager dog will go on a walk even though he may be extremely uncomfortable with the conditions. Please educate Phoenix!
