I believe the Phoenix schools could create a curriculum that involves students volunteering as a core requirement to their education.

I request for the Mayor to work with the Phoenix school districts at the junior high and high school level to incorporate a program that requires students to fulfill a certain number of volunteer hours per year.

I believe stronger encouragement to volunteer connects youth to their community and builds a sense of pride and belonging to their community. Volunteering can aid in development of valued morals and ethics, leadership, a sense of understanding, and respect for others.

Volunteering can also aid in job skills and networking.

Ideas for volunteer opportunities:
Literacy - Reading to younger kids
Food Banks
Clothing Drives
Adopt-a-park program
Animal Shelter program
Classroom Aide
Etc.
