Imagine kiosks where you purchase a 30 minute trip on a bicycle along sections of the light rail and the metropolitan downtown area. Instead of hailing a cab or driving a short distance, simply swipe a card and take a bike to your destination. Many cities have implemented this idea including Denver, Washington DC and Minneapolis. Some say it is too hot, but with the right design, this could be a successful idea that takes off. Incentive programs from surrounding businesses, farmers markets in the area and even residences could offer the opportunity for more people to get on board with the idea and make it thrive.
