Canals can be lovely places and places that could have light rails above providing cross town transportation and below keep the canals which will have shading with the light rail structures and trees planted along side. They could be lighted and allow for even more biking, running and walking. This would also make them safer and more frequented. SRP can still keep the water running and cleaning but just add to space.
