Connecting the bike lane on Osborn would create a cross town path that is badly needed in Midtown to support the burgeoning bike community and area college students. Unfortunately, the bike lane stops between 20th Street and 15th Avenue to accomodate auto traffic and there is no safe way to bike East and West in Midtown. Extending the lane would allow riders to easily get to the the 3rd and 15th Avenue bike lanes, the canal path and to the Osborn light rail stop along the way. Since there's already a bike path along much of Osborn, traffic is lighter than on the other main roads and there are no buses it just makes sense to extend the lane. And a buffered one would be even better!
