Hear me out because I don't want folks thinking I'm racisit (I'm actually half-Mexican). ....

So you know how San Fran, DC, NYC have a "ChinaTown" district? Why not create an intentional district in Phoenix to capitolize on the predominant ethnicity (according to the lastest Census data Phoenix is at least 40% Hispanic).

I was actually thinking that the ideal area would be South Central Ave. I believe the light rail is planned to eventually travel south on Central. I can imagine resteraunts, salsa bars, pottery shops, and dispersed throughout the existing establishments (I think the tire rim shops add a little spice to the experience).

Phoenix isn't only about golf and resorts. We have a culture to capitolize on as well. What a great way to bring together community and show pride! I also think it would be great publicity for the State which has been hit negatively by the media for "our" (I put that in quotes, because it's not my stance) on immigration etc.

Please consider this!
