I just searched "downtown" and received 6 pages of ideas. To me this indicates growing pains. Many want to guide or direct downtown's immediate future for the sake of growth.

But one little detail bothers me, namely that there is no money attached to the General Plan. None of us can expect the city to open its treasury to execute any idea just because it's presented here. This forum is not a way around a previous "no" to a favorite idea, including my own.

This forum is, however, a good way to increase the gene pool of downtown growth/support ideas and people. I haven't seen so much enthusiasm from a small area in a long time.

As a non-downtowner, I feel intimidated in the face of so many good, strongly supported ideas.
