These areas are the gateway to our downtown. Regrettably, the reverse lanes stifle business growth in the areas. Eliminating thse reverse lanes would not only slow down speeding cars through our neighborhoods, but strengthen our Central City economy as well. We need tomove on from the idea that the traffic department's goal is to move traffic in an out of our city as fast as possible, and instead work to improve the quality of the core of our city. They maintain they are safe, but, hmmm, for some inexplicable reason, whereverthese lanes are put in nationwide, they get the nickname "Suicide Lanes".

Heck, I'd even like to see an island down the 7th avenue curve.....
