In conjunction with my previous proposal, "Trees! Trees! Trees!" (http://www.myplanphx.com/shaping-phoenix-s-future/trees-trees-trees), I recommend that on existing and planned greenbelt networks or flood retention basins like the Laveen Area Conveyance Channel, we should have much denser tree growth. Presently, the city plants standard landscaping with well-manicured shade trees, but I think we could make a much stronger impact by adding to the mix more native trees that require less maintenance.
