Las Ramblas in Barcelona is a 1.2 Km walkway through the very heart of the city centre. There you see all sorts of stalls, restaurants, bars and street performers along with the many thousands of people that promenade up and down the Ramblas until the early hours of the morning. No cars are allowed and businesses and art venues line the pedestrian areas. Sidewalk cafes make this the place to be. Would be perfect near ASU downtown. Create with wonderful shade and a place to put public art. This would create the kind of magnet area to bring people downtown. This is the place for outdoor markets, art show, faires. A space for art and culture. Encourages people to walk. People watching place, lots of benches, plants, flowers, etc.
