Make the "Grand Ave Rail Project" a reality (GARP)
An old PHX Street Railway car

The Grand Ave Rail Project (note: not my idea) is a great vision for a Heritage Trolley running along Lower Grand Ave. Lower Grand has already been revitalizing but with a historic streetcar running down the street, connecting to Central station it could become an amazing, hip street full of cafes and boutiques.

Heritage Trolleys are successful all over America, and Tucson has a good example of one along 4th Avenue.

Check out this website for more info on this Grand Vision:

Its time to "ride a mile and smile the while" once again :-)

by Scott R19 If the First Friday events were extended to the lower Grand Avenue area it would help this initiative immensely.

by Sean S7 To make this worth the investment, in other words to generate enough economic development to justify the project, the Grand Avenue community would need to become a lot more welcoming to height & density.

by Will Novak I agree. There's plenty of empty lots or surface lots in the area that would be great fits for 8 story structures or so
