I think it should be a state law to have shade on all City of Phoenix and school play ground structures. I am always amazed when I drive by a school and see no shade on the play ground or am at a park and see the same. One park that particularly comes to mind is Indian Steele Park. Although the larger play structure has a shade canopy the smaller structure for the littlest kids (toddler age) has no shade. These shade structures cost money but since we live in the desert: shade, water, and A/C are the basic necessities to quality of life in the desert, especially when it is 100+ degrees.
