Reviewed Ideas
If we want to help expand downtown, we truly need to help draw families from the suburbs. One idea would be to build a prestigious multifloor state of the art library that you see in other cities. It should be like an exhibit where families can bring their children and adults can read and ponder books. This will help bring traffic to the area and many people will buy from local coffee shops and dine at local eateries as they relax in the library on a Sunday afternoon. Parents can bring their children and engage in a constructive activity like reading. There should also be a park or outdoor area immediately adjacent to it with covered awnings and mister systems for the summer. At night, the library can be reserved for formal events. There are nice libraries all over the city but nothing on a grand scale and nothing like the ones I've seen in cities like D.C., Boston, NY, Memphis, SF, Seattle etc. Phoenix truly needs a landmark library. It will also enhance our reputation as a metropolitan world class city. Thank You for your time everyone! Attached below is a photo of the Memphis Public Library. If Memphis can host a library like this, downtown Phoenix definitely can as well if not a larger and nicer one! |
