City of Phoenix - Please Please plant trees, real shade trees, so they can shade where people walk, real people actually walk! This way people might walk more! 2nd Avenue between Roosevelt and Van Buren - quite a lot of money was spent during the 'oughts to reduce the driving lanes to two and create a shaded promenade from the Central Business District to the Residential District. I've been bicycling along that road for a year and Friday, it suddenly hit me - there is no shade where I bike, nor shade where I might walk - the grass is intermittently shaded, but the grass isn't laid out in a way conducive to promenading along. Please shade people when you spend all this money on shade!! |
