Let's get serious about developing a real bicycle infrastructure in Phoenix - when a bike gets hit by a car, people die three times more often than usual when a car is involved in an accident. The economic cost of the 7 people killed and 500 people injured in Phoenix yearly is estimated to be $27 Million by ADOT. Increasing our bicycle infrastructure budget beyond the $50,000 currently allocated would yield very large economic benefits.
