Great ideas. There appears to be a lot of support for this project. As you all know this is one of Valley Metro's corridor studies. If your schedule permits, Valley Metro is hosting a community meeting on October 23 on this topic. Expedite the South Extension of Metro light rail

The South Central Extension of the light rail (down Central between downtown & South Mountain) has the potential to be a game changer.

Reasons:
1) There's lots of potential for redevelopment, particularly for medium density affordable housing.
2) It serves a mixed-income demographic that will greatly benefit from the service.
3) It requires only six miles of track from one of the two hubs (in this case Downtown Phx) to provide access to both Rio Salado and South Mountain.
4) It strengthens Downtown Phoenix by creating another line that extends directly from it, thus increasing the number of people for whom downtown will be very easily accessible.
5) It will breath life into the high-potential Warehouse District.
