Minibuses with dedicated routes, regular stops, and frequent runs to carry many small loads of passengers quickly and directly. Fewer empty buses and service to more areas, including light rail stations; minis can be rerouted easily for special events, construction, etc. ALSO: Put charging stations on the light rail trains. Please see Mumbai, Muny rail in SFO, and many European systems where idea was found less ridiculous than when I suggested it in 2007. Question 1: Does an electric train generate electricity for this? Question 2: Mom gets on light rail at Mesa end with 3-year-old en route to doctor's office at ASU Med School downtown. Kid has to pee after leaving Tempe. What would you do?
