While the information that follows deals specifically with downtown Phoenix, the nucleus of such "arts districts" may already exist in other parts of our city, or they can surely be be contemplated, formed, and nurtured over the next ten years. Where is YOUR arts district?
Downtown Phoenix Arts District
We have Roosevelt Row. We have Grand Avenue. We have SAMA. But what about the arts in downtown Phoenix? What about a formal Downtown Arts District to showcase what IS downtown and to complement and link to our other central Phoenix arts districts.
Can you guess how many arts venues there now are downtown (roughly bordered by the ASU downtown campus to the north, Warehouse district to the south, and between the 7's)? Look at the list below. Remember, Roosevelt Row and Grand Avenue venues are separate.
