Our streets are road rage mini drag strips that don't appear to be much more than superblocks.. city of Phoenix has 2 types of streets. Camelback near Biltmore has green dividers and turn lanes... 7th Avenue and 7th Street is all street. The streets need reformed to allow biking, better turn lanes, MUCH SAFER people walking/crossing.. and retimed lights to actually improve cross city travel. One is not independent of the other..just takes BRAINS and engineering. My big idea is to do a test street of a major street and apply all the latest SCIENTIFIC/urban road lessons to see if it: Improves the business life of the area. Start with 7th Avenue from Baseline to Camelback.
