We've emphasized summer cooling costs all along and here we are with winter upon us and no comments on heating. According to articles I've read, gas is cheaper than electricity for heating and hot water.

I realize that it's not a purist solution, and if there's a better and cheaper solution to winter heating I'd want to know about it.
