Much of Phoenix is utilitarian and uninspiring: Strip malls, block walls, large asphalt parking lots. We need more fun, funky spaces. Commission artists to create (or hold competitions to collect ideas for) more interesting and engaging infrastructure. Ideas could be simple and easy to implement, like the hopscotch game to the waste bin shown in the photo, or more elaborate.
