Did you know that Goodyear Airport has an 8500 foot runway and they already retrofit old 747s to become cargo aircraft? Why not solicit Washington with a request to help fund 19 much-needed aircraft per year. "AirTurbine recently won a new contract with Precision Conversions to convert large jets into cargo planes." Why 19 aircraft you ask? The first 19 fire fighter aircraft could each be named after the fallen "Hotshots" at Yarnell AZ, and could be made available to the USFS/BLM to help combat fires in the west. I'm sure the governor, Phoenix, Goodyear & other west-side cities, the BLM & USFS could submit this idea as a rider to some upcoming bill in Congress, thru our congressional representatives to do just that. If awarded the necessary funding, we could also bolster the existing employment and aerospace firms already operating at the airport. We need more of these aircraft now, and why not at least try? Sounds like a win-win to me? Do you agree? Need an aerospace job?
