ZIP codes matter for local identity. In newer parts of the city, we have addressed this issue in the past, but there are many central Phoenix neighborhoods and other more established parts of town that face issues with property valuation and neighborhood identity because of their ZIP code designation. I recommend that the city create a task force to gather input from active community members to redraw the lines and submit to the postal service for reconsideration.
