Allow and encourage residents to gift funds to the city for the purpose of planting trees on public property. They could be in certain designated districts within downtown or central, schoolyards or within parks even. Along with the tree, the donation would result in a plaque by the giftee to be placed by the tree. Amounts could vary for various sized trees &/or for maintenance for a number of years ($100, $500, $1000, etc.).
