The Parks Foreman's job description includes "Application of toxic insecticides and herbicides." as a required skill. There is no job requirement that speaks to learning about non toxic killers and pre-killers.

Corn gluten is an effective pre-emergent I'm told; vinegar an effective herbicide; neem extract a pesticide. But I'm no expert.

Commercial toxic 'cides are increasingly demonstrated to be harmful to humans.
