I know that this idea is highly unlikely to go anywhere but I want to throw it out there. I think it would be awsome if the yearly ice rink at City Skape was more functional for both rec ice skating and hockey (ie proper boards and rounded corners) and the City could host an outdoor mini hockey tournaments (youth and adults) ala the NHL's annual Winter Classic. It would be wild and surreal to play hockey at night in downtown Phoenix outside, and it could activate downtown a little more after hours. Maybe a full size rink doesn't physically fit in that space but it could alternatively be a 1/3rd size rink similar to what Ozzy Ice once had and play 3 on 3 hockey instead. I know it's an odd and wild idea but I figure I would throw it out there.
