The piece of land on Central Ave and Glenrosa is nearly the same exact size as the waterpark portion of Big Surf in Tempe. If a parking solution could be found (possibly the vacant land across the street) I think building a great waterpark on this property could go a long way to attracting families to the central core.

I know a waterpark in a city's central business corridor is not seen in the US, but this project WOULD be another destination to add to why people should visit central Phoenix as opposed to Tempe or Scottsdale or Mesa.

In 2007 Waveyard (http://www.waveyard.com/) was looking at building one of the nicest waterparks in the country in Mesa, but due to the recession and a deal with Mesa falling through, the project was cancelled. Waveyard's interest in the Valley market shows that the area still has room for another waterpark, and it would be really attractive to offer this entertainment option right in the center of the city.

And for those of you who don't want a project that is only used 3 months out the year in the center of the city, take a look at this indoor/outdoor waterpark built in Vermont ( http://www.jaypeakresort.com/pumphouse/waterpark ). This park could be Phoenix's first indoor waterpark with an opening roof, open all year round.
