I think its about time the City (region?) rethink the GIPLET program as a means to incentive urban redevelopment. We need new urban redevelopment tools that conform to the 21st century. My concern with GIPLET is that its shedding additional tax burdens onto other adjacent property owners. GIPLET has historically been applied to mega developments and I have concerns where the "little guy" might be squeezed out. Maybe GIPLET is the best we can do given the political climate at the legislature, but at the least lets revisit how the program is structured and applied moving forward. thx
