In order to decrease travel time on the Metro rail, and decrease the likelihood of intersection accidents, increase the speed limits on Camelback from 19th to Central to 45mph, and Central from Camelback to Roosevelt to 45mph, and Washington/Jefferson from 7th Street to Mill Avenue to 50mph. This speed increase is around 30%, which would mean a faster schedule for everyone riding the rails. This also means that trains are in intersections for a shorter period of time, reducing the likelihood of a mid-intersection train/car collision. Traffic already zooms along at 50+ mph on these streets at any time of day.
