What is/are Phoenix's architectural style or styles? Should Phoenix develop it's own style(s)?

South Beach, Miami has its Art Deco style. Tuscany region of Italy has its own style.

Maybe different districts could have different styles? Maybe we can use more local materials in our architecture such as copper, the desert rocks, or maybe more adobe-like material which we have around us. Also we can design the architecture to take advantage of our climatic conditions mainly the sun, but also wind. Additionally, utilize technological advancments to develop new buildings and houses. We have smart phones, why not have smart houses and buildings.

How can we bring back the craftsmanship and artist within all of us and pay more attention to detail in the creation of our physical environment? I also sometimes wonder how we can promote more unique, creative, and high quality architecture. What are your thoughts?
