Dobbins Rd, located between Central Ave and 51st Ave, has been designated an "Historic Scenic Corridor". It runs the base of South Mountain. On this road, you can also find the oldest continuous running grocery store in Phoenix established in 1919.

The SRP canal systems run parallel to the road. It would be wonderful to have that area developed to be bike and pedestrian friendly. The road today is used frequently by cyclists who ride around the mountain from Ahwatukee, but the road is trecherous with an average speed of 40-50mph and no bike lanes.

Dobbins Road offshoots to many family-oriented communities, but provides no shade nor sidewalks for pedestrian's to actually enjoy the historic corridor.

I would like to see the City partner with SRP to develop the canal system to be pedestrian and off-road bike friendly, but I would also like the City to develop sidewalks and bike lanes on this road to help provide protection and improve cycling for all those from the City who use that corridor -- which is currently a popuplar route with cycle groups throughout the valley.
