Phoenix Police Department should be trained and equipped to patrol the major phoenix mountain preserves such as Dreamy Draw Park and South Mountain Park (SMP). There are many issues that Park Rangers do not have the authority to enforce. For SMP, response to major issues would improve if Phoenix Police are present or stationed within the park. It can take 20-30min, depending on traffic, to drive from SMP park entryway to the top of the mountain. Many issues seem to occur on Dobbins lookout due to the lookouts popularity. Dreamy Draw, Papago, and North Mountain Park have had issues with sexual activity and sexual solicitation in the public park restrooms and desert shrubs near trail ways.

Mounted patrol, mountain bike patrol, and foot patrol are recommended. A few squads to patrol the mountain parks on a continual basis would be amazing.
