The Melrose District is the perfect stretch to create traffic calming, install curb extensions, widen and separate sidewalks from the street, create protected bike lanes and implement bike sharing. Let's get rid of the reverse lanes and create walkable communities instead.

This neighborhood has a mix of shops and restaurants, is surrounded by residential historic districts, is near the light rail and the Grand Canal (a perfect tie-in to Canalscape) and the revitalization will attract even more small, local business.

I'm excited to see that the Community Alliance of Seventh Avenue has been formed and I hope that they can work with the city of Phoenix to make this happen.
