An Arcadia landmark, the David Wright house, which FLW designed for his son, may be threatened by demolition. The current property owner at one point was discussing demolition, and is now looking to subdivided the large lot the home sits on and build McManshions all around it.

What you can do: Phoenix and Arizona residents are encouraged to attend the Historic Preservation Commission Hearing on September 17. They are also encouraging that letters of support be written to members of the Phoenix City Council, the Mayor of Phoenix, and the Chair of the Historic Preservation Commission.

Phoenix has knocked down too much of its history, lets not make this mistake again. Do we really want to be the first major American city to start purposefully knocking over FLW structures that are in great shape? Thats no way to treat the legacy of a man who loved our little desert 'berg.
